Rose Street Spectrum

A spectrum of solutions for tomorrow.

Outpatient

Asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’re wise.

About Our Program

At Rose Street Spectrum, we use ABA therapy to teach a variety of skills. These skills are individualized to meet our learners’ needs, and can include:

  • Language and communication skills
  • Social skills
  • Self-care and life skills
  • Attending, focus, and memory
  • Academics
  • Replacements for challenging behaviors

What is ABA?

ABA, Applied Behavior Analysis, is a type of therapy that is based on the science of behavior and learning. Unlike many other types of therapy, ABA focuses mainly on observable behaviors and the environments in which they occur, rather than thoughts or feelings that are happening inside an individual. By studying these behaviors and their environments, behavior analysts can decrease challenging or harmful behaviors, teach new skills, and understand why behaviors are occurring.

ABA is classified as an evidence-based best practice treatment by the US Surgeon General and by the American Psychological Association. This means that as a science, ABA has been proven to be effective through research, and all the techniques used in ABA therapies meet these criteria as well.

ABA is not a “one size fits all” approach; each program is individualized based on the needs of the learner and their family. The first step is a thorough assessment, after which specific goals based on the learner’s age, abilities, and preferences are written. Data on the progress of these goals is collected during every session to measure the effectiveness of the intervention and to help make decisions about future treatment.

Where We Practice

Rose Street Spectrum has two campuses, one in Wichita Falls, Texas and one in Lawton, Oklahoma. Our Wichita Falls campus serves Wichita Falls and surrounding areas, including Burkburnett, Iowa Park, and Sheppard Air Force. The Lawton campus serves Lawton, Elgin, Fort Sill, Cache, Walters, and Apache. When deemed medically necessary and at the discretion of the supervising BCBA, we can provide services in home, in community and in school.
